MAKE YOUR MARK and YOUR MARKER

A joint DIY project by Natalie Jeremijenko and Linda Weintraub

The Studio Art Environmental Health Clinic is an on-line preventive care resource that compiles and dispenses prescriptions and instructions for remedying the environmental ills associated with painting and drawing mediums. The clinic optimizes the health of artists and the environments that are impacted by art production.

The clinic dispenses free resources and expertise. Requests for consultations and second opinions about environmentally responsible alternatives for producing art are welcome.

Students and faculty are invited to contribute prescriptions and strategies for producing nontoxic and non-depleting alternatives to commercial art mediums: paints, pencils, charcoal, crayons, solvents, varnishes, etc. Ingredients can be sourced from animals/vegetation/minerals or from waste streams. Contributions will be posted and credited on the website of the eco-art textbook by Linda Weintraub (www.lindaweintraub.com/tolife-DIY-mediums)
